Legitify, based in Dublin, has secured €1.5 million in a seed financing round

Legitify, an online notarisation platform, has recently generated €1.5 million through a seed funding round. The funds will facilitate the expansion of the platform’s operations, further development of its product portfolio, and enhancement of its team. The funding round featured key participants like Enterprise Ireland, Redbay Ventures, Verb Ventures, and Actium Partners among others.

Legitify, based in Dublin and led by CEO Aida Lutaj and CPO Arko Ganguli, was founded during the Covid-19 pandemic. It intends to enhance the ease of carrying out cross-border transactions by offering an online solution that simplifies notarisation processes. The online notarisation tool can be utilised by individuals and organisations to authenticate and notarise documents virtually.

Lutaj anticipates an increased need for remote online notarisation across the UK and Europe. Moving forward, she sees a growing trend towards digital notarisation and the use of qualified electronic signatures.

The decision to set up the company’s headquarters in Dublin was largely influenced by the availability of tech talent in the city. Legitify’s product is operational in over 40 countries and has served above 1,100 customers spanning several sectors. Verb Ventures’ founding partner Alexander Chikunov lauds the platform’s capacity to meet critical market needs and billions of notarisations annually.

In a separate development, Climateaction, a Cork-based company, has attracted €2.3 million funding for its US expansion and team development, backed by Davy’s 2022 EIIS fund. Established in May 2021, the company aims to mitigate environmental impacts by identifying carbon hotspots and strategising an all-inclusive business decarbonisation approach. CEO Paul Murphy recognises the partnership with the Davy EIIS Fund as instrumental in popularising its climate action expertise.

“He said that the significant injection of €2.3 million will act as a catalyst for our growth schema, facilitating our penetration of the US market, recruiting exceptional personnel, and stimulating continuous innovation to amplify our influence even more.” Among their clientele are renowned firms like Analog Devices, Abbott, Energia, Aryzta, Arrabawn, and Garret Motion.
