Four individuals have lost their lives due to tornadoes in Oklahoma

A series of tornadoes wreaked havoc in Oklahoma, resulting in the death of at least four individuals, as disclosed by the state’s governor, Kevin Stitt. The violent storms, which started late Saturday, left approximately 30,000 residents without electricity and caused widespread damage.

The impact was greatly felt in the rural town of Sulphur, with a population of around 5,000, as structures in the town centre were reduced to debris and houses spanning a 15-block radius were left roofless. Governor Stitt confirmed that about 30 Sulphur residents sustained injuries.

A significant number of tornadoes have been recorded causing destruction across the US Midwest since the previous Friday, leading to flood watches and alerts issued for several states on Sunday. – AP
