Dear Editor,
It’s exasperating to observe the conspicuous absence of our national flag in our capital city, especially during a week when potential taoiseach Simon Harris TD urges our nation to “reclaim our flag”. The sight of esteemed structures like Trinity College’s west front or the erstwhile Parliament House on College Green standing bereft of our national flag contributes to this disappointment.
We look to other European capitals where prominent historical and cultural edifices proudly display their national flags. Why can’t we do the same?
