Dear Editor,
The title of your recent piece in the ‘Motors’ section, “Are car touchscreens safe? Safety regulator lays down the law”, published on May 15th, proclaims the stance of Euro NCAP – the independent safety and crash-test expert organisation – about car touchscreens. Yet, buried in the middle of the article, we encounter a notable contradiction –“It’s important to remember that Euro NCAP is not a regulatory body.”
It thereby becomes apparent that laying down the law is beyond the competency of Euro NCAP.
Sincerely,
SEAN O’BYRNE,
